Covid-19 – Teledermatology is the most viable route during the epidemic, this is covered by most insurance companies.
Our clinics and consultants are recognised by all leading UK medical insurers. We work closely with them, for most, we have an arrangement which allows us to invoice them directly and collect payment for you.
All our consultants are “fee assured” which means costs for their services are within guidelines published by medical insurers. In nearly all cases, this ensures their fees are met in full by your insurer.
Using insurance for dermatology fees is quite normal and our staff will be happy to advise. There are a few aspects you may wish to bear in mind.
Medical Insurance Procedures
Liaising with your insurers before treatment could make sense. This can help you be aware of the terms and conditions of your policy, limitations if there are any, such as excess clauses.
By all means ask us first but in most cases, you will also need to visit your GP. Once you tell them you are covered by medical insurance and want to be treated privately, they can help with any arrangements required.
This generally consists of them writing a referral letter, for some insurers, they need to complete part of the claim form. They could help make an appointment, or you can arrange this yourself.
Once the claim is under way, your insurers may issue a pre authorisation code before treatment begins. If they do, letting us know this can be helpful.
Overseas visitors may be covered by their ongoing medical cover, or travel insurance, although this needs to be carefully checked. Liaising with your insurers, or asking our staff prior to treatment is useful.
Equality Of Treatment
Administrative details need attending to but the most important point of medical insurance is creating the opportunity for you to be treated and medical issues put behind you.
Skin Care Network are a leading medical and aesthetic dermatologist, we provide treatment purely on the basis of the best medical path for you and never compromise because of your method of payment.
Neither are your insurers likely to. From our experience, insurance companies care about their clients and all of them recognise the importance of treatment for skin conditions.
The benefit of the cover they offer is that you can be treated at a time and clinic of your choice. We work alongside them to ensure this happens, if you have any questions, please get in touch our staff will help.
