Having your skin scanned with a hand held device is a relatively pleasant experience. Non invasive, yet the high resolution images our laser powered Vivascope transmits to a screen are at a cellular level.

One of few such devices in the UK, valuable for helping to diagnose pigmentation disorders, vitiligo and more. Also an asset in helping to distinguish between benign growths, or those which might be cancerous.

You avoid discomfort, or scarring, results are immediate, ideal for early treatment. Images can be stored at a wider, or microscopic level, for review, or future comparison, part of up to date dermatology.

A Modern Approach

The Vivascope uses a process called Reflectance Confocal Microscopy and is the most advanced device available to look beneath your skin. There are still times when other modern equipment can add an extra perspective.

Dermoscopy involves the use of a hand help microscope to evaluate skin conditions and the latest, digital variety provide greater insight. The level of magnification is remarkable and they can send still, or video images to a live screen.

Diagnostic time is saved, biopsies lessened, changes over time can be mapped. This helps to spot issues at an early stage, reducing treatment and risk to patients, bringing them peace of mind, less disruption to their lives.

Electrical impedance spectroscopy is a further option to identify change in skin tissue, by tracing small variations in electrical resistance, a symptom of yet unseen skin cancer.
