Good dermatology provides individual care, helping you feel free to enjoy life and good health.
Dr Adil Sheraz, a Skin Care Network consultant, explains approaches to psoriasis. One of a number of dermatological conditions we treat.
Your skin is precious to you and reflects your overall health. An outer layer which can indicate deeper conditions, or in itself develop medical needs.
The good news is the amount of successful research and development over recent years. In specialist hands, treatment can be made available for almost all issues.
Skin Conditions
Conditions such as acne, or recurrent rashes are common, eczema and psoriasis not far behind. A quarter of the UK population can be suffering from a recognisable skin disease at any given time.
This may seem concerning but please don’t worry. The message we want to give is that if you have a problem, you are not alone and that almost all known skin conditions are eminently treatable.
Our consultant dermatologists see patients with complex needs and the recovery rate is remarkable, due to modern medical dermatology and technology.
Alongside helping with treatment, this can aid diagnosis and accurate planning. Our confocal microscope is a good example of advanced diagnosis, able to look beneath your skin and often avoid a biopsy.
State Of The Art Treatment
Laser technology can be invaluable in treating skin disorders, from psoriasis, to age spots, to sun damage, to broken capillaries and rosacea, often stimulating collagen production at the same time.
Our dermatologists use a variety of lasers, from Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatment, to up to date fractional lasers and the remarkable Varilite, a powerful, hand held laser, which can be precisely targeted.
We offer Photodynamic Therapy (PDT), either using a lamp, or our simulated daylight PDT room. A chemical treatment combines with a special light source, to treat early stage skin cancer. A breakthrough in non invasive treatment, which our specialist team prefers.
Complete Medical Support
Skin Care Network Chelsea is staffed by consultant dermatologists, who believe in treating skin problems for maximum effect, with minimum discomfort.
In cases where greater intervention is the solution, complete, in house support is available. Our consultants are experienced in specialist treatment such as Mohs surgery for skin cancer and advanced plastic surgery.
They can be of immense value in certain cases, although we should mention again that modern dermatology is focused on minimally invasive care, to avoid damage.
Good outcomes come from planned treatment, to provide what you need, rather than generic solutions. Part of the personal care our staff believe patients deserve.
