Our consultant dermatologists and surgeons specialise in treating skin cancer. Their skills are supported by the latest diagnostic equipment and dermatology nurses experienced in cancer management.

Rarer conditions are treated at our clinic, such as extramammary Paget’s disease, or nodular melanoma. The types of skin cancer we more often treat include basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma and the most serious, malignant melanoma.

One consultant will manage your case from your first visit, offer all the support, advice and explanation you need. Our multidisciplinary approach to skin cancer treatment will still be there when needed.

Beyond assessing your physical condition, the size and number of lesions, we want to ensure you have the best diagnosis available. Discussing your symptoms, or medical history can raise aspects which deserve unique insight.

Our consultants do consult with each other, work as a team. They share knowledge of cases and if they can shed light on your case, they will. Cancer treatment is a developing science, high level knowledge should be shared.

The latest technology supports our team, whether this is confocal microscopy to replace a surgical biopsy, or mapping change and progress through digital imaging. Knowledge and science complement each other.

The same thoughts apply to a standard biopsy when required, to microscopy, or histology, conducted in house and by expert hands working together. We want nothing to be missed, the best possible treatment plan defined.

Treating Skin Cancer

Skin cancer is a broad term, which can simply relate to skin level growths, or lesions, or melanoma, with the ability to spread to other parts of the body.

Case numbers have risen, yet improved awareness and early, accurate diagnosis see many cases confined to the first stages. Successful treatment can come from medicated creams, cryosurgery (freezing), lasers, or non invasive, photodynamic therapy.

Where surgical excision is needed, this is kept to the minimum to safely remove unwanted tissue. An ethos which is taken to new levels in Mohs micrographic surgery, a procedure we specialise in.
