Dr Palamaras has been a substantive Consultant Dermatologist at Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals, part of The Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust since 2010 and a substantive Consultant at Queen’s Hospital in Romford since 2014.
His special interests include Mohs micrographic surgery for skin cancer and laser surgery, approaches focused on maximum effect from minimum intervention.
Alongside these up to date techniques, Dr Palamaras brings a unique knowledge of hair and nail disorders to our clinic. Conditions which most of us are likely to see at different stages in life and welcome expert care.
The time Dr Palamaras spent in Bologna, with the world renowned expert Professor Antonella Tosti, adds to this knowledge. He additionally completed a two year course in Dermatologic, Mohs and laser surgery, at St John’s Institute of Dermatology in London.
Dr Palamaras went on to be Honorary Mohs and Laser Consultant Surgeon at St John’s. He also serves as a visiting lecturer at the University of Hertfordshire and teaches postgraduate doctors undertaking their MSc in dermatology.
Sharing his knowledge has always been important for Dr Palamaras. Through key posts he has held and training younger colleagues, by supporting colleagues consultations and by the publication of a significant number of articles in peer reviewed medical journals.
Dr Palamaras speaks English, Greek and Italian fluently, part of the communication skills he feels are so important. He puts particular emphasis on maintaining the utmost respect for his patients, wishing to have them involved in and informed about all aspects of their care.
